BIOGRAPHY

Nevin Öztop brings a background spanning philanthropy and journalism, with a focus on resourcing movements working at the intersections of state-sponsored violence, accountability, and justice.

Ms. Öztop draws on experience from across the funding and field-building landscape. At FRIDA | The Young Feminist Fund, she helped shape and scale the world’s first globally implemented participatory grantmaking model, advancing fundraising approaches grounded in trust and feminist leadership. At Oak Foundation, she led major grantmaking portfolios focused on seed funding and field-building in contexts of democratic backsliding, civic engagement backlash, and surveillance. She believes in the power of stories, data, and art to shift and inform donor practices.

Ms. Öztop holds a degree in Journalism from Portland State University in Oregon and a degree in International Relations from Webster University in Switzerland. A journalist by training, she is a gardener by temperament. She is currently based in Geneva, Switzerland.
