OVERVIEW
As a Legal Fellow with Partners in Justice International, Mr. Jacob primarily conducts factual and legal research relating to situations where PJI works, or is considering working, and assists in providing support to local practitioners and survivors of human rights violations seeking accountability for grave crimes in their own countries’ courts.
BIOGRAPHY
Valiant joins PJI as an Inner Temple and Sir Joseph Priestley Award recipient. Prior to joining PJI, Valiant was a legal assistant and advocate specializing in family law, immigration law, victim-first advocacy and an everlasting scholar of international law and jurisprudence.
Valiant holds a Bachelor of Laws from University of Kent, a Masters in Law from University of Wisconsin-Madison and successfully completed his Bar Vocational Training in City University of London. Valiant was Student of the Year, advocate in the Kent, Madison and City Law Clinics, and Public Law & EU Health Law research assistant.
Throughout his academic career, Valiant spent his time outside of lectures in the university law clinics, assisting Jolyon Maugham K.C, volunteering as a board member for Trans Law Help Wisconsin and advocating for LGBTQ+ students’ rights as Welfare Officer of Kent Union. For his efforts, he was awarded Student of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.
