The PJI Legal Team was requested by the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict (OSRSG-SVC) to develop Model Legislative Provisions on the Investigation and Prosecution of Conflict-Related Sexual Violence on behalf of SRSG-SVC Pramila Patten.

PJI Director Maxine Marcus announced the project at the 10th Anniversary of the Mandate of the SRSG-SVC on 30 October 2019.

The Model Provisions will include:

  1. Model Criminal Code Provisions Relating to Conflict Related Sexual Violence Crimes;
  2. Model Criminal Procedure Code Provisions Relating to Conflict Related Sexual Violence Crimes;
  3. Model Victim and Witness Protection Provisions Relating to Conflict Related Sexual Violence Crimes;
  4. Model Victim Representation Provisions Relating to Conflict Related Sexual Violence Crimes; and
  5. Model Indictment for International Crimes Involving Conflict Related Sexual Violence Crimes.
